
Type designer Jean-Baptiste Levée visited my typography class the other day and gave a short presentation of his work (lots of good stuff at his website). He also gave a quick calligraphy demonstration, which was really interesting and inspiring. Several of his tools were handmade (you can for example use crate, or a bent piece of a can) and instead of using expensive ink, he mixed clothing dye with water.

I brought the “fake!” with me back home (it has a really nice splash-effect that unfortunately didn’t come out in the photo).
